Carriageway Drainage Works – Walcott, B1159 Coast Road
Norfolk County Council will be carrying out essential carriageway drainage maintenance
work on a section of the B1159 Coast Road, Walcott. These works are programmed to
start on Monday 28 September 2026 and take up to 8 weeks to complete, weather
permitting.
To allow the works to be carried out safely, a lane closure will be in place on a section of
Coast Road between Poplar Drive and the entrance to Walcott Park, from 28 September
to 27 October 2026, before the same section of road is temporarily closed to through traffic
from 28 October to 20 November 2026, with a signed diversion route in place. Additionally,
a 360-metre section of footway on the beach side of the seawall will be closed, with
signage directing pedestrians to alternative routes.
Access to and from businesses and properties will be maintained throughout the works;
however, there may be short delays experienced at times due to the nature of the work.
Should you have any specific access requirements during this period, please can you
confirm these with me before Friday 18 September to allow time for our works contractor
to consider how these can best be accommodated, where practicable.
The County Council acknowledges the inconvenience this essential highway maintenance
work will create but would thank people for their patience while this work is carried out.

Norfolk County Council proposes to make a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (the
“Order”) (NTRO11335) affecting the A) C413 Hall Road from its junction with the
U19007 North Walsham Road for 1320 metres southwards (“Road A”) and B) the
C416 Broom Lane / U19090 Heath Road from 60 metres west of its junction with the
C413 Hall Road for 130 metres eastwards (“Road B”) in the Parish of Honing to
facilitate pole testing works, the Roads A and B will be temporarily closed (except for
pedestrian access) for the duration of the works/period the closure is necessary which
is anticipated to be from 11th to 12th June 2026, but may continue to be closed until
the 24th July 2026 where the closure is still required beyond the anticipated dates.
