📣 Walcott Parish Council – Community Update & Meeting Invitation

The Shoreline Management Plan stated that the sea defences at Walcott would be “held” until 2025.
Following a recent conversation with a Coastal Engineer, we can confirm that there is still funding available for repairs to the sea wall, and NNDC will continue to maintain it while this funding remains.

During the local transition meetings, many residents made it clear that they wish to stay in the village rather than relocate. Several people also expressed that they would be willing to pay an increased Precept to help support future repairs to the wall.

With this in mind, Item 7.2 at tonight’s Parish Council meeting will be:
🔹 To consider and agree on setting up a “Protecting Walcott Fund”.

    🕖 Tonight – 17 November, 7pm
    📍 Walcott Village Hall

Your Parish Councillors work hard on your behalf, but we can only represent you properly if we hear from you.
If you have views, questions, or concerns about the future of Walcott and our sea defences, please come along tonight and share them.

Your voice matters. Let’s shape Walcott’s future together. 🌊💙

    Kind Regards

    Pauline
